How the never-ending Tap In race works
Tap In Points (TIP) are the ecosystem's activity-reward currency. You earn TIP through verified activity across participating platforms — tapping cards, qualifying referrals, completing challenges, and engaging with participating businesses.
TIP has no monetary value. It cannot be purchased, sold, or transferred between users. Every TIP transaction is recorded in an immutable ledger — your balance is always the sum of your verified ledger entries, never a single mutable number.
We distinguish between several types of taps, and they are never interchangeable:
Important: Device counts are never described as verified human counts. Where unique-device status cannot be established, a tap is classified as unverified — never labeled as verified.
Only activities explicitly configured as eligible by the admin earn TIP. The current eligible activities are:
Points are awarded idempotently — processing the same event twice never awards points twice. All awards require admin-configured verification where specified.
The network race has milestones at 1,000 / 10,000 / 100,000 / 1,000,000 / 5,000,000 / 10,000,000 / 100,000,000 / 1,000,000,000 verified qualifying taps. The race continues after each milestone — reaching one unlocks the next.
Only verified qualifying taps count toward tap milestones. Check-ins, purchases, and referrals do not inflate tap totals — they may qualify under separate challenges.
Both network and individual milestones are tracked. Each verified event counts once toward the network total AND once toward the individual's count — no double counting.
Leaderboards rank participants by verified metrics across multiple categories:
Each board states its metric, competition period, and ranking rules. Tap competitions are never ranked by LKP balances. No personal or financial information appears on public boards.
Achievements are auto-awarded when you meet the configured conditions. Initial badges include:
Tap In Points (TIP) and Lounge Keys Points (LKP) are completely separate currencies. They have separate ledgers and are displayed separately. Neither has monetary value.
You can convert TIP to LKP at the admin-configured rate (currently 1:1). Conversions require admin approval. The Lounge Keys platform is a separate app that is not yet connected — converted LKP is recorded as pending external issuance until the platform confirms receipt.
Conversions are processed atomically: TIP is deducted and LKP is issued together, so a failure can't create duplicate points or orphan deductions. Duplicate conversion requests are prevented.
We use privacy-conscious deduplication — no invasive device fingerprinting. Rate limits prevent automated tapping. Suspicious events are flagged for admin review with a full audit trail.
Users can never modify their own balances — all changes go through backend logic only. Admin actions are recorded in an audit log with who and when.
Referrals follow a distinct lifecycle: Recorded → Pending verification → Qualified → Approved commission → Paid. A tap alone never triggers the $5 payment — attribution, program rules, eligibility, and approval determine qualification. Commissions are tracked separately from TIP and LKP. If payout isn't connected, approved commissions show as approved-not-paid — we never report money paid that wasn't.
The Race Center accepts activity events from participating platforms (Tap In Network, MONARQ Z, Lounge Keys) via a secure server-to-server endpoint. Client-side requests are never accepted as proof of qualifying activity. Each event is deduplicated by its unique event ID.
Platforms not yet wired show an integration status indicator with what's missing — we do not fabricate activity data or claim connections that don't exist.
